So the owner was stopped for driving erratically, yet it was the police who crashed the car. And people wonder why the police are not held in high regards anymore...

I think drinking whilst on public duty should be banned.

You can be they will be looking for the tiniest modification of the vehicle and try and use that as an excuse .
One policeman to the other "let's practice some show off techniques put on our glad rags and see how it pulls on the beaver patrol" .
The best we can hope for is that they don't sue the taxpayer for trauma and end up on full paid permanent sick leave until their full pension at 55 .

I just dont understand how this could happen, arent officers highly trained driving professionals as they often like to mention when booking speeders?
Surely if a young lad can handle his Evo after a few too many, it be a walk in the park for such highly trained officers.

"A spokesman for the force said both officers, who are police constables from the Trafford division, have been suspended from driving duties 'with immediate effect'."
...yep, on the grounds that they cant drive properly and thus are unsuitable for driving duties!
