Guardian: Falling house prices? Blame the media
The Guardian picks up on surveyor and EA comments and throws them back in their face. It's not the media stopping price rises - it's economic factors. Would have been nice to see this kind of comment years ago.
"With few signs that the banks are loosening the purse strings it is difficult to imagine how prices can advance much further. And "a bit of positive talk" will make not one jot of difference."

This reporter has been making these comments for years, and others. Such as telling a complaining landlord that he and not his tenant should pay all cleaning/refurbishment costs between tenancies, and that taking it out of a deposit is theft.
