Pensions apartheid under attack again.

Yorkshire Post: Reform call for public sector pensions

Workers in the public sector would need to save more than 40 percent of their salary each year, including their employer's contribution, to fund the final salary pension benefits they are building up
For those outside God's Own Country. The Yorkshire Post isn't a tabloid rag like the Express etc, is older than The Times and whilst being broadly Tory adopts a fair stance towards liberal views.
I'm not the editor of the YP by the way.

The Yorkshire Post may be only broadly Tory but the report comes from the Public Sector Pensions Commission which may sound like it is an independent Government-led body but it was actually set up by the Institute of Directors and The Institute of Economic Affairs. Both of these bodies have a very free market right wing stance. It could be argued that allowing the market too much freedom is what has caused us to be in the mess we're in at the moment.
