The lesson is, if your letting agent enters (or tries to enter) your rented property unannounced, call the police.

Same thing happened to me.
The scum bag British realtor used the key I'd given him to enter my house in France and steal among other things solid a fitted solid fuel stove.
There was no doubt bout the culprit, hard to prove.

most of the rentals i have lived have 2 locks on the front door,
very easy to swop the second lock for a new one, and if the LL/LA informs you they tried, but could not get in, then report
to police for attempted burglary.

Is the point of this that all estate agents are thieves or that some thieves are estate agents?
