We're all vested interests now......
Daily Mail: 'British culture is self-absorbed and greedy,' says Bill Bryson
.....I rarely read anyone (in here) volunteer to chip in....not Savers, not the 'investors' certainly not Boomers...(admittedly, they invented hard work and saw off Adolf and Benito and the Martians?....or was that a film) Maybe it was always this grubby – but I think we’ve really lost our way.

hahahaha in the Daily Mail of all papers - that fine paragon of self-sacrifice and holy virtue, between celeb pictures, articles about what diets are good and reviews of which holiday destinations are trendy.
PLEASE GET SOMETHING REAL TO WORRY ABOUT!
For god's sake people, millions of people around the world have died at the end of our gunfire and all today the big story was LiLo and her alcohol problem.
AND WE STILL NEED IT POINTING OUT THAT WE'RE SELF-ABSORBED !!!!
Does nobody care? Or am I just yelling in an empty room?
reCaptcha: "dorkiest is"
(no I really am not making this up!)

self-absorbed = immigration, diet fads, celebrity gossip
greedy = shit on the young, property unaffordable is good
“the rules don’t apply to me” = CGT 'outrage'

Bill B wrote that cracking history of science, but then spoiled it all by becoming figurehead for Campaign for Protection of Rural England and hence figurehead of NIMBYs.
I couldn't care less what he says and he can clear off back to Canada AFAIAC.
