Vince left out to dry

VINCE CABLE’S PRINCIPLES RULE OUT A TOP JOB: Express

After been endlessly paraided during the campaign, it would appear Vince has now been locked away.
The public have been conned ... again.

This Lib Con pact might not happen, and if it does it is unlikely to last long.
Too many differences. Labour and Lib have much more in common, though, a pact between them would require other MP's from smaller parties to join. That would not be a solid ground from which to build a new government.

I notice Brown is still around. If he had any decency, he would have put in his resignation for a couple of weeks hence and simply moved out. It seems the Labour rebels are already going public about wanting him gone.

I guess someone is refining the "Downfall sketch" on Youtube ready for Brown's finale.

This is a purely speculative story based on "sources close to Mr Cable" or "a person familiar with the situation". Until a decision is announced, this is just tabloid babble. I can't imagine the former Chief Economist at Shell and former Treasury Finance Officer to the Kenyan Government would have any trouble working with a diverse range of people. However the Tories aren't going to support his £10,000 tax-free band, so he probably won't want the job.

It seems surprising to me that the main men Clegg, Cable, Cameron and Osborne, don't seem to be at the negotiating meetings.

I think Vince could take over from Darling. Darling could be the "safe pair of hands" that could run the country - I can't see the country wanting boy Milliband! Although, what say the voters have is very marginal.

But what happens to House Prices if Cleggie joins Labour....?

It's all mere window dressing as the fundamentals economically remain the same.

Just sit back and watch the spectacle as my best guess is that subconsciously the conservatives would love a lib-lab pact, just waiting for flares, platform shoes and tank tops to come back in fashion as well !
