quality of life is based on many factors even house prices, high prices = less quality of life, europe house prices are nothing like as high as in uk..

Nothing to do with house prices. Zurich, Geneva, and Vancouver (#2-4) have sky-high house prices relative to local incomes; but the German cities (Düsseldorf / Frankfurt / Munich #8-10) have much lower house prices. Dublin (#25) is a lot cheaper than it was three years ago, but that doesn't mean it has suddenly become a worse place to live.
