Telegraph: Don't let the voters know we face bankruptcy
"Four huge shadows hang over this claustrophobic election, about which the three main parties will be trying to say as little as possible. Debt.. is now growing so fast that it is difficult to find ways of bringing home how stupendous it has become. The Taxpayers' Alliance has tried to do it by pointing out that public debt is rising by £447,575,342 – virtually half a billion pounds – every day".

£447 million a week, yet our irritating politicians have spent all weekend bickering over a pathetic policy of the Tories that is expected to cost £150m a year if anyone could be bothered to fill in the paperwork to claim it!

Is anyone seriously contemplating staying in the UK?

I thought the change in tax treatment for married people it was pathetic and social engineering until David Willetts explained it .
What they are proposing is that a couple where only one is working and earns 40,000 a year should not pay more tax than if both are working and earning 20,000 each .
Agree with you it is pathetic fiddling while Rome burns .
Don't see how we can put off taking our medicine much longer .

Tom101 ,
I think you have hit the nail on the head .
There is going to be one hell of an exodus of the very sort of talent we need to dig ourselves out of this .
Oh for a courageous political leader

Where is every one going to go, Tom101?
I believe the Usa and southern europe are in a worst state than the Uk.
The reason we have so many immigrates is that they also believe the Uk is the better than there country. Where else to you get free Medical treatment, welfare and housing while not working?
