"This should have happened years ago across the public sector" ... appears above the article title, on the main page. Well, I've followed this site for quite a few years now. I've spent some 15 years working and saving, all the while watching house prices spiral out of control. I live and work in London as a teacher, so I guess that makes me a public worker. Just when I thought house prices would correct from 2007 after the 'private sector' in banking busted the country from a decade of greed, then the 'private sector' banks in cahoots with the government got the printing presses out, devalued my savings and kept house prices up and in the 12 months, even increasing them 10% here in London. And now, I note the sentiment from quite a few on here because they are unable to hold either the banks or government to account, it's now very easy to lump all public sector workers together and allow them to be the scapegoats. Oh, and let's blame all the over 40/45 year old brigade whilst we are at it too, as that I've noted is also becoming popular. This is why 'those in power' always succeed and stay rich... they can manage to pit those at the bottom who are quite often in the same boat, against each other. Looks like those that love writing the likes of "This should have happened years ago across the public sector." have shown why they will always be at the bottom and will spend the rest of their lives there, as they stupidly take the bait from 'those in power' to fight amongst one another. Maybe that's why we have been left behind in home ownership and are now all bitter because we sat back and missed out, so we can now fight amongst each other and blaming the guy to the left and right for our rubbish predicament. Well done!

It's tough but at least they have got jobs to go to and pensions to look forward to .
I don't see why Ryanair, BMI and others should have to compensate passengers beyond the cost of their fare though for what is an act of God. Completely ridiculous.
