Mail: Labour attacked for giving £170m in aid to China
I'm not a fan of the Mail but this caught my eye.
Given our current financial problems surely it's wrong to be giving aid to the world's third largest economy, in which case Chinese poverty should be the responsibility of the Chinese government?

Their poverty is more important than ours.

I'm sure this kind of thing is more than just helping those in need. There must be a long term agenda of some kind. Improving relationships for the future, perhaps? Maybe GB and Co have secured some future jobs out their for themselves, paying hansomely yet leaving the Chinese in profit! Worth keeping an eye on i'd say.
Perhaps we should investigate all those companies Tony Blair's creaming money from. I wonder if they ever received a gov't (Tax payer) handout. Lots of quango's with lots of money. It sure does make you wonder.

look at smugdog leaving the bankruptcy hearing, tossing 10p unthinkingly, into the busker's cap
then scale it up a little

A lot of aid is directly linked to funding our exports (mostly weapons or large scale infrastructure). The aid budget is seen by the foreign office as a slush fund to bribe governments around the world. Look for China buying some power station turbines or war planes from us over the next year.

If you are not a fan, then you will know that the Mail churns out endless labour-bashing headlines. They write headlines designed to provoke outrage, your outraged, job done.
