Crazy financial products are imploding

Money Week: The crisis is not over

This reminds me of BCCI and the Icebank thing in the UK. This time its France. Germany too and the US. I bet the UK is in there somewhere...

Casino banking strikes again..

..but who, I wonder, is on the other side of these contracts? Who is left out of pocket when towns like St Etienne refuse to pay, and can they bear the loss?

The French banks escaped largely unscathed in the first round of the recession, I wonder if dodgy contracts with local government is about to torpedo their balance sheets..?

So French politicians buy dodgy financial products so that they could borrow and sort out their balance sheet for a short while, and then their successors would have to pick up the pieces.

Now what does this remind me of in the UK...

nubbers more like "who" does this remind me of in the UK.

I do wonder what effect the lack of flights will have on economy, some of our food is airfreighted in, post, UPS, fedex, tourism, possible future tourism will be wary of being stuck in uk so wont bother to come, the list goes on and on, fuel suppliers to airlines, airlines themselves, airport car parks, wow some effect if it goes on
