Err, why would we have to pay? Many countries have points systems to get in and no one calls them racists. Immigration should not be a racism issue - if a country has a need for your talent & skills, you are welcome. If you have nothing to contribute, I am sorry but you are not coming in. Genuine asylum seekers should still be allowed entry - benefit tourists should not.

Once the BNP were in, they would discover this is unaffordable and reduce this package to the cost of a flight plus a £2k settlement fee. Take up would probably be encouraged via leafleting and police brutality. Many educated British non-whites (and whites) would move to Ireland, Canada, and Australia leaving the poor non-whites to remain under an apartheid system. They would be removed from all decent social housing and moved to the kind of unlettable slums used for asylum seekers in the North. White children would have priority under schools and university allocations and employment perpetuating the cycle of deprivation. Sanctions against the UK and protectionism would lead to overall economic decline. Government propaganda would lay the blame on the 'darkies' (a bit like Hitler's blame of German economic woes on the Jews) re-inforcing racial hatred. It might solve the housing crisis but who would want to live here?!

I have non doubt that this rate is unaffordable (I do remember Spain running a similar scheme for repatriating non Spanish building workers a year or two ago http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,425283,00.html)

The problem is un-lettable slums exist in almost every UK city (north and south) These slums are filled (for whatever reason) by recent immigrants. Local state run schools in these area are amongst the lowest performing schools in the country, many are put on special government measures to improve performance. White UK and longer established immigrant resident are playing the system to allow their children access to the better schools in their cities (I have friends whose children commute 10 miles from central Bristol to school daily... 3rd generation and 2nd generation immigrant families). These children do have an effective priority to university places, by virtue of better exam results.
There is no current government propaganda that 'blames the darkies', but many white UK and established immigrants still do all the same.

I am NOT a BNP (i am not condoning their policies) supporter and have no strong opinion either for or against immigration, but I do feel that the 3 main parties mantra about how essential our skilled migrants, deliberately omits to mention the armies of unskilled hand car washers, take away workers and underemployed living here.

'tudorian' the unskilled car washers........if you are refering to the hoards that congregate at supermarket car parks.....they do a good clean for £5......unfortunately beyond the means of those Brown has pauperised such as myself....It is the 'squeegy merchants' who wind me up, a form of aggressive begging which holds up traffic and was made obsolete 40 years ago when windscreen washers fitted to cars became the norm.

@7. Exactly everyone knows that the "unskilled hand car washers, take away workers and underemployed living here" make up a very large number of people and it is those that the white working class are exposed to day-in-day-out. I doubt the people of Barking meet very many nuclear physicists or Indian Oxbridge undergraduates.

But it has been a deliberate Labour policy of the last 13yrs to greatly increase immigration against the will of the people. Of course they know nobody likes too much immigration but because they are from the Left-wing intelligensia THEY KNOW BEST!

£50K to leave over-priced Britain? I was considering leaving for nothing!

The squeegy brigades to a great job for a fiver, I agree. I was just trying to make the point that the government (and opposition parties) tell us that we've befitted from migration of highly skill tax paying immigrants. This may be partly the case, but they never mention the unskilled migrants NHS cleaners, kebab workers, meat packers warehouse workers and those who seem to congregate on the street corners of many city suburbs.

As a Libertarian, I believe in free movement of people but because of the distortions caused by welfare and inequitable opportunities cross borders this is not yet practical.

The UK Libertarian party have an ethos and manifesto I fully support.. they say

"As a party we are committed to establishing the free movement of goods, capital and people. However, the free movement of people into the UK is not yet practical while we have both a large welfare state and most other countries are themselves not broadly Libertarian in nature.

As soon as it is practical to establish free movement between individual countries we will do so. To expedite this we aim to establish bilateral agreements with nations to enable bidirectional flows of people similar to that between Australia and New Zealand. The more the distortions of the Welfare State are negated, the more we will be able to enter into bilateral arrangements.

Until bilateral arrangements are in place, and in line with the Rule of Law, a transparent and consistent points-based system is one of the key measures that we are proposing.

* The UK shall have full control over its immigration policy with any right of final appeal remaining within the UK.
* For countries without a bilateral agreement on the free flow of citizens we propose the adoption of a points-based immigration policy for economic migrants.
* Asylum Seekers must present at a UK border otherwise their claim shall not be accepted. Those refusing to declare originating country and accept that denial of their application will result in their return shall be denied entry, and any right to seek asylum will be refused outright without appeal.
* Move towards asylum seekers to be held "air side" while their case is heard as swiftly as possible, e.g. within 2 weeks.
* End automatic access to education and resources for any child who presents itself to the authorities, i.e. vouchers will not be available.
* Any concept of a mass "amnesty" for illegal immigration undermines Rule of Law and as such will not be entertained."

Yeah I have a problem with them as well. But the solution is NOT to pay them to stay at home while an immigrant does there job for less money - that is not a net gain to our economy. The solution is to stop immigration AND drastically reduce benefits so that market forces/hunger/etc result in our own people taking those jobs.

Goldbug, I agree with you. I would tell them that if you don't work and you're not in training or education then you have to do something of value to society (cleaning grafiti off the walls etc.) if you want benefits. My point is that the work ethic of a vast number of immigrants is far superior to that of a vast number of British benefit claimants.

This will all become a non-issue after the election anyway, whoever gets in. People come to this country for a better standard of living and because of the opportunities that exist here. On that basis, Afghanistan will be a better choice than UK pretty soon.

Hi. I am from Eastern Europe. I live in the UK for about 6 years now. When I first came to Britain in 2004 for a better pay it was all looking good and promising. Job capacity on one side and motivated workforce on the other. No one however could predicted that it will lead to exodus of people from Easter Europe. On top of that there is still a huge number of illegal emigrants coming to the UK everyday. Now, we are all in deep trouble (both Brits and Poles). People who live in this country no longer benefit from the positive side of emigration. Anyway, my point here is it's not a racism to talk about emigration, but yet for some reason no one has got balls to go public with the problem. Germany and other EU states have set their limits on number of Poles and other Eastern Europeans allowed to work in their countries. It helps them to keep immigration under control so everyone can benefit from it. I think it is the last moment to do something about it here in the UK.
Once again guys:
I am polish emigrant
I don't live in shared accommodation along with 12 others
I rent 1 bed flat with my wife
We are both working and studying in the UK.
We are thinking about buying a house in the UK and we do have a deposit
We never claimed any benefits
...but for good's sake it is enough. It is time for Brits to stand up I say: "stop, we want a fair limit...". You have my word I will stand with you.

That is absolutely spot on. The likes of Brown, Cameron and Clegg rub shoulders with educated and cultured types, not the typical inhabitant of some areas of Bradford and Dewsbury who are probably more at home in Peshawar or Multan.

This is just another example of how out of touch with everyday people our politicians really are and I would even be classify their attitude as Nimbyism just to maintain a HPC theme. I bet Dave wouldn't hang about if there was an influx of people from Kashmir or Syhlet into Notting Hill.

@TT "People come to this country for a better standard of living and because of the opportunities that exist here.

Exactly!!!

There are equal opportunities in France, Germany and other EU countries. Many immigrants travel through those countries, France especially, to get to the UK.

Why do so many choose the UK? Because we're a soft touch with our welfare state and handouts.

The Lib/Lab/Con political elite are afraid to discuss the subject of immigration, knowing that the majority of the people in this country, of whatever origin, want an end to uncontrolled immigration and therefore the politicos censor any rational debate on the subject by accusing anyone who raises the topic of being a "bigot"

LTF, that's the LUK party line which is necessarily complex because it is a practical. My own view is actually very simple - the individual should have moral and economic freedom from the state and should be granted personal autonomy as long as it does not directly and unambiguously harm others. I would also have no shame at all in being a librarian!

Timmy T, that may be the case for now but even Baghdad saw a real estate bubble with prices doubling from 2005-2008! ""The price per square metre in the Zayuneh district has risen from $500 in 2005 to more than $1,000 today," says Abu Abbas, owner of Zayuneh estate agency in an upmarket area of Baghdad on the east bank of the Tigris. "Sellers have become even greedier since the ratification of the security agreement with the United States," he said, referring to the pact setting a timetable for US forces to leave Iraq by the end of 2011." Can Kabul be far behind?

Guess I do have a problem with the vast majority of them then....but certainly not with the fact they won't work for an insultingly low salary when the whole modus operandi of post Thatcher/ Nu Lab socity is to make money from borrowing and speculating rather than "working" Who can blame them?

I once blared banging techno from the garden (my parent's garden) whilst setting up for my 21st birthday bash ... I had notified all the neighbours, but the sock and sandled nimby (he is usually behind any anti-building petition in the area) whose house backed on to ours came storming round into our back garden without ringing the bell, pulled the amplifier plug out of the socket saying 'It's a bit early for that'. If he had the common courtesy to knock and politely requested the sound to be turned down we would have happily obliged. From time to time my brothers and I still throw cat faeces and dead mice from the traps into his garden as a repayment for the community spirit he has shown over the years.

MW where does the 50K to build a house come from? I thought it was around £80K?

I really wouldn't mind if I was the only person who agreed with me. And I have my own personal strategy for fighting back against the tyranny of the masses - so long as a distorting and unjustifiable welfare state exists, I will ensure I am an overall recipient or at least neutral and take out more or the same as I pay in.

"My point is that the work ethic of a vast number of immigrants is far superior to that of a vast number of British benefit claimants."

But that is purely a product of the respective motivations. A polish waiter on minimum wage here is earning 20 or so times what he would back home. Give a brittish benefit claimant the opportunity to rake in 300k (20 x local salary) a year doing a piss easy menial job or get FA and starve, and youl see some pretty impressive "work ethic" suddenly appear especially.

Also take a trip to an eastern european country (I've been to various east-euro countries on about 20 trips) if you want to see just how much "work ethic" they really have. Honestly the slap dash approach to everything, the lack of care or pride in everything they do and their environment is quite shocking. Its one of reasons why outsourcing to east-euro countries has not really taken off - instinctively they do the absolute minimum they can get away with.
