So it's not all baby boomers after all

Yahoo: Tycoon "loses" his Lamborghini

A wealthy property tycoon lost his £130,000 Lamborghini Gallardo supercar after a night out because he was too drunk to remember where he had parked it. Glenn Knowles, 35, was accused of fraud when the car disappeared and has not been found since, even though it was fitted with a satellite tracking device.

Of course it's not all baby boomers, there's plenty of avaricious, greedy, grasping barstewards in the 35 to 50 age group.

No, I think it is. The evidence really is overwhelmingly not in their favour.

Ho hum. As a "greedy, grasping etc" in the 35 to 50 age group, let me distinguish between those who MADE the rules and those who EXPLOIT them.

I refuse to join in with the general bashing of welfare claimants - sure they are lazy and cynical, but they did not MAKE the rules, they just EXPLOIT them, but this is a house price blog and not a welfare reform blog, so let us stick to the topic...

It is only where people MAKE the rules and then EXPLOIT them where the real problems occur.

Two examples of this:

1. MPs, who will do anything to prop up house price bubble to make handsome capital gains on second homes.

2. Whoever it was who supported sell-off of council houses, restricting new construction, reckless lending, scrapping of taxes on property like Schedule A or Domestic Rates etc. There has been, historically, huge support for this. From whom?

It does not matter about the age of the person concerned.

What is tragic is this country's apparent inability to enforce a value of honesty: a false insurance claim, an MP who overclaims on expenses or on the john lewis list, a peer whose rules allow them to claim for expenses purposes that the main home is where they spend 1 night Amonth. a takeover where they ptomise to keep open a factory then close it in a week, a city firm which loses its phones and blackberries having been servedv with a court order to provide them:-

None of these acts of dishonesty or selfishness have gonre punished: they are just accepted. This is our tragedy.

Having been through the worst 3 years of my life. And being a regular on HPC, i thought to myself, what the hell went wrong. People turn to religion, islam, jesus, etc. Being into theology already, thought i would look into astrology. And the reason for this submission is that the astrology does illustrate the current state of play. The baby boomers are the pluto-leo generation, they were responsible for the last revolution, free love, flower power, etc. The generation aged between 28-14, with the core generation being 16-26 are the pluto-scorpio generation which if you look at an astrological chart, the two signs square. Generational conflict. Throw into the mix, both jupiter and uranus opposing saturn and all three planets squaring pluto. It will be a very interesting year or two. Greenspan, pisces. Is and has been just telling the truth, the baby boomers have literally taken the bread from generations to come, because this generations philosophy was simply self interest. As adam smith described the "invisible hand" that is merely astrology. The macro, is the actual planetary influence, the micro "interdependence" which is how our energy interacts with the individual we interact with each and every day of our lives. Quite simple really. Yes, their is a revolution in play, and if the baby boomers, don't play ball, they will lose everything. They were born into rationing, and they will die with rationing.

Furthermore, if you look at karl popper's (apt name really), you will understand that as with nature nothing stays the same, we are merely guests. Meaning, that paradigm is always subject to change. Meaning the authorities, however hard they try, will not control the universal influences in play. So to the baby boomer generation, besides the geo and the housing market which is a pyramid scheme. Your days are numbered i'm afraid. Incidentally, i share the same birthday as alan greenspan. Not that i am, but have an economics degree as well. Money, does not interest me, as i believe the system is a fraud.
