So How price rose in February after all ?!

Acadametrics: House price rise in February ?!

Acadametrics, which used to produce the FT's house price index, gave a rather different picture. It showed that prices rose by a hefty 1.9% in February, for an increase of 9.7% on a year earlier.

"Acadametrics is a research-based consultancy practice, focused upon the housing market."

For those who haven't checked, two of their clients are Northern Rock and HBOS....let me repeat that, *Northern Rock* and *HBOS*

For those who need reminding:

1) Northern Rock (former London Stock Exchange ticker symbol NRK) is a British bank, *under public ownership from 2008*

2) On October 13, 2008, Gordon Brown's announcement that government must be a "rock of stability," resulted to an "unprecedented but essential" government action: the Treasury would infuse £37 billion ($64 billion, €47 billion) of new capital-bailout into Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc, Lloyds TSB and HBOS Plc, to avert financial sector collapse or UK "banking meltdown"

3) General Election

I thought David Smith had been replaced long ago on the Sunday Times. If he's not already retired he should certainly consider it seeing as he writes this kind of delusional rubbish on his Economic Suk site.
