Let's all have a riot!

BBC: Petrol prices set for record high

The price of oil is a major determinant of the price of petrol, and yet the current oil price of about $80 a barrel is far below the $147 a barrel-high seen in the summer of 2008, the last time petrol prices neared £1.20 a litre.

But house prices are more important than petrol prices.

I missed this on my previous post: "Mr King said a lack of refining capacity in Europe had contributed to the rise in wholesale prices."

Do we f**king do anything in Europe?

Surely this is good news... We all need a house to live in and the whole fr1ggin country celebrates when house prices go up so it must be the same for petrol... or am I missing something?

Well don't worry, I'm sure the latest inflation report will show a spike, just like when oil prices dropped it showed a fall.

Oh, hang on a minuite...

I don't see the problem - just take advantage of competition constantly pushing down costs in the sacred market mechanism and go to a petrol station with lower prices?
We're getting the almighty p*ss taken out of us, from all sides, yet I suspect this will still end up solely the fault of the government in some eyes.

I've completely offsett all the recent fuel price rises by driving 10mph slower, especially if there is a BMW/AUDI behind me!

Saves me money, deprives Gordon of some money and helps reps/business/personality bypassed types chill out by driving slower!
