We were told to expect conflicting forecasts as activity in the housing market dropped to the low levels we're seeing over the last fews months - certainly seems to be the case! I regard this as "proof" that prices are indeed heading only downwards... despite all the vested interests desparately talking the market up.

based on looney low interest rates which is what got us in to trouble in the first place....this sort of activity is normally found in a collapse which we now no would have happened if markets were allowed to work
