The real cost of over-valued property
Shelter: Affordability crisis fractures families
Not sure how the media will be able to spin this one as "good news"...
Ms Boycott said: 'We must urgently address this situation and make sure housing is a key issue ahead of the forthcoming election. That’s why we are calling on people to log on to our website today and join in the debate about the need for more affordable housing.'

The problem with Shelter is that they are focussed on affordable housing as State-sponsored rented or part ownership and other schemes. Schemes wouldn't be needed if the crash was allowed to take its course because housing would fall to an affordable level. They also argue for "better protection for home owners at risk of repossession". Their messages are a little confused since they say on the one hand it was bad prices tripled in a decade and people speculated on rising values (as most here would agree) but then go on to argue for those people to be bailed out through lender forebearance.
