And the beat goes on...Did anyone ever truly believe QE was going to end any time soon?

BBC News: UK car scrappage scheme extended for a month

The UK car scrappage scheme is to be extended for a further month, the BBC has learnt.
It was due to finish in February, but it is understood the government will announce on Thursday that the subsidy will run until the end of March.
No extra money is being made available by the government, simply extra time for the scheme to operate.

This must be the yet another desperate action of our King Canute government. Stick your head in the sand and all the bad things will go away, at least untill May, because they wont be here anyway. They are continuing this sleep-walk policy of a reality check because the true picture is too terrifying. I read to-day that R.B.S. are still on the gravy train bonuss payout. Is'nt that one of the reasons why we are all in this mess in the first place? Take a leaf out of Obama's book, prosecute the looters or take everything off them, after all it's OUR MONEY THIS TIME!!!!

'No extra money is being made available by the government, simply extra time for the scheme to operate'; looks like everyone who had a car to scrap and wanted a new one already has one then

Nothing more than a bit of cheap headline grabbing from our politico's, the effect of any extension will therefore be limited.

QE probably will end tomorrow for the time being. Though being out of Sterling I hope it doesn't.

Lets get this right. I must pay those who already have cars to scrap their cars and not sell them to me, increasing my cost of motoring, in order that they can get a new car they don't need, paid for via credit they didn't need, making them and the entire economy dependent on yet more credit, burdened by yet more interest payments. I have to pay for this, and I don't even get a car from it. My car got stolen, but I have to pay for jerks who already have cars in order that they can have a slightly better car, just so that a few insiders can maintain production, demand for which was destroyed by previous government intervention. Socialism is tyranny.

freeamphil, you missed a bit out
just that a few FOREIGN insiders can maintain production so more money leaves the country so that dealers get to keep their jobs
Scrappage is a crap idea, the only way to make it less of a farce is to only do it on U.K built cars

Well said though

freemanphil, you won't make any friends on this site criticising socialism. The looney left will be out in force, once they crawl out of bed that is.

Spot on.

Perhaps that's why the following keeps being deleted:

It's a damning indictment of nearly 13 years of socialism.
