A warning sign that house prices are about to turn down

MoneyWeek: A warning sign that house prices are about to turn down

A widening of the gap between houses sold at auction and conventional sales doesn't bodes at all well for where UK property prices are heading next.

OK, found a strange occurrence earlier, Rightmove are advertising properties in the last 24 hrs category,
which are incidentally "under offer" but were, from memory sold over 6 - 12 months ago.

This surely is an underhanded trick that cannot be legal?

It gives the impression that the market is moving, but quite evidently, it isn't.

The market is moving smugdog, but not in a way you'll want to be smug about.

Thats just agents re-entering sold property. they've been doing it for at least 12 months now and i've posted on here many times about this. Agents work for sellers and will do all they can to create the impression of a rising market to lure in suckers. Its absolutely not illegal. Agents are in no way bound to buyers and lots of suckers take their advice. People would not trust a used car salesman but they trust a used and new house salesman. Ridiculous.
