yet more of our taxes going to keep house prices unaffordable.

Is it me or is it only people who work hard that seem unable to afford a decent place to live. Benefit claimants and "money for nothing" BTLers don't seem to have much of a problem.

It is interesting how every article i've read in the Daily Mail, pertaining to excessive benefits, features someone with a brown face. With the UK consisting of an immigrant population of 7% and of those who are non-white being 4%, you'd think you'd have the odd caucasian family described as spongers by the mail.

For those daily mail readers who find mental arithmetic difficult: 93% of this "fair" isle is white British and since the growth rate (or breeding rate, as some like to put it) of the white british ethnic group is higher, as a percentage, than those of other ethnic groups I imagine this figure will only increase.

So don't worry, you'll have your country back soon

That £20 billion is a game of two halves.

A third of it is paid to private landlords to prop up house prices and ought to be scrapped. It'd be far, far, cheaper to build more social housing.

Two-thirds of it is paid by one govt department (DWP) to another government department (local councils) for people in social housing, so doesn't really cost the taxpayer anything.

We all know how the HB system is meddling that distorts the market and is damaging. Nobody should be put up in a mansion on the taxpayer and immigration does need tackling but I still don't like the way the Mail uses this not to criticise the system for the damage it does, but to stir up racial hatred.
