Didn't the sack the last speaker because of the MP's Expenses Scandal?
Telegraph: Speaker John Bercow's official residence refurbished for £45,000
Astounding!
".....Mr Bercow ordered the makeover, covering work from child-friendly redecorating to new televisions and furniture, within weeks of his election as Speaker in June.
His wife, Sally, oversaw most of the work and the couple pushed ahead with the overhaul despite being warned by Parliamentary officials that the costs may be seen as excessive. ......
....The new disclosures about Mr Bercow's spending are likely to prove embarrassing for the new Speaker who was elected on a promise to restore trust in Parliament in the wake of the MPs' expenses scandal. During his campaign to become speaker, he said: “It is high time the House (of Commons) was run by professionals on a transparent basis, ensuring that we are accountable to the people who put us here.”

After 12 years of absolute nightmares, with my cancer ridden grandprents, forced to put up with waiting lists, NHS administrators problems, cancelled operatios, My dads pension having six figures stolen, after B*STARD browns pension raid in 1997, me and my brothers being forced out of the housing market, and having to watse tens of thousands in rent for ten years.
How dare you, allow John Bercow to stop Nick Cleggs request for further inquiries into politicians expenses, notably the house flipping expenses, and allow Bercow to refurn his official residence for £45k?!
THSI IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF WHY I HAVE RECENTLY NOW DECIDED NOT TO VOTE TORY.
YOU DONT GIVE A DAMN, THIS SHOWS YOU WILL BE AS BAD AS LABOUR.
THE PEOPLES CHOICE FOR AN IMPARTIAL INTERIM SPEAKER WAS ANN WIDDECOMBE.

Just looked at 'http://www.parliament.uk/about/how/members/mps.cfm'. It explains what mp's do. The first line in the description is:
'The UK public elects Members of Parliament (MPs) to represent their interests and concerns in the House of Commons.
I think the MP's must believe that 'their interests' meant their own, and not those of the UK public.
