Loses and cost cutting across the industry I would have expected some more M&A activity. Particularly BA, who seem to have a huge issue regarding their overpaid cabin staff compared to the rest of the market. Would a middle eastern carrier make a move for BA and renegotiate/ sack the overpaid staff?
Bit off HPC topic but shows the state of the economy and possible increases in job loses as corporates struggle to reduce costs.

Part of the problem with the likes of BA is the pension fund liability - if you look at some of the so called "large companies" out there at the moment the pension deficit exceeds the capitalisation of the company.
Mark Wadsworth might have some numbers on this ?

Sorry FTB DAve, I can't make anything of BA being taken over by a Middle Eastern Airline.
Air Lingus being taken over by Cunard on the other hand.
How much joy would it bring to everyone to see planes flying around with CUNA-LINGUS written dow the side.

Remember the airline TWA? I went on that once and this really gorgeous cabin staff asked me if I wanted some TWA coffee, and I said "no, but I wouldn't mind a bit of your TWA tea"
Sorry - but I thought seeing as we're descending into peurile humour I would play my trump card.

Very good Inbreda & Co.
Frankly I can't believe Sarah hasn't complained yet.
Bet she's furious.
