Estate Agents Still Use The End Of The Stamp Duty Sales Pitch To Push Through Sales

The Economic Voice: Stamp Duty Holiday Extension, Government Dilemma

The stamp duty holiday extension on property valued at under £175,000, which came into effect on 3rd September 2008, will end on the 31st of December 2009. Many Estate Agents and first time buyers are worried that the extension will not exceed the December deadline.

I assume that our Kindly And Benevolent Government will extend the holiday until at least after the election, or maybe even increase the threshold to £200,000 or something. Gotta keep them house prices as high as possible!

Assuming they will indeed extend it, they will probably only announce it close to the December deadline to enable the EAs to push sales through these next weeks.

There will probably be a rush by the City parasites to use their bonuses to buy property in Shaftesbury, Dorset after the aricle in The Economic Voice.
