Some very un-educated comments in the blogs - "I hope house prices don't rise too soon so when I leave uni I can get onto the ladder"
As Martin Lewis is now an advisor on housing to the Government, he has to watch his P's and Q's.

We want positive sentiment - so that the BoE starts to think about increasing IRs

The majority are always wrong especially at market turns so the more worrying sentiment would be if everyone thought we were in the sh*t.

Personally I think they have it all wrong. Booming house prices isn't a recovery, house prices returning to sensible levels is a recovery.
But as Techieman says, when the majority believe the upward movements mean nothing and house prices are just going to keep dropping, thats when we have hit the bottom. Go back to the previous hpc and people were saying much the same thing, and prices carried on dropping for another 4 years. Of course this time its different ;)

C. Increase 5-10%. - 13% (1206 votes)
D. Increase 2-5%. - 30% (2755 votes)
E. No real change. - 24% (2257 votes)
So C. D. E tell us that majority will not buy if house prices do not increase but how much more and for how long?

Deluded People!
House prices have barely come down and people look for an increase!
I think people are more hoping than to base anything on fact!

Martyn Lewis, "Mr Money-Saving-Expert" was advocating putting your money into the Icelandic banks right up to the day they collapsed!
I rest my case!
