So That Could Be 8-10 Million Unemployed!!!!

BBC NEWS: TUC warns of four million jobless

Sorry for my alarmist headline I am aware it is so...its just that in the past I have noticed that if a figure is given and thrown out into the public domain by influential organizations then it would be wise to double it at least......
Any still feeling bullish about inflation and house prices?

Mr Brown will also say: "People's livelihoods and homes and savings are still hanging in the balance, and so today I say to you: don't put the recovery at risk.

Notice he mentioned savings hanging in the balance. How can that be? Nothing to do with QE of course......

Brendan Barber says "A time will come when we need to get the deficit down, but that's not the stage that we are at." In fact we will wait till hell freezes over before a union admits that we need to reduce public spending to reduce the public debts that have to be financed by taxpayers.

Mr Barber said: "If a Conservative government was elected that was taking the axe to the public sector, that might well provoke a reaction. There would be that danger." Ah, threats. At least mMr Barber is telling the truth. Will 2010 be the next Winter of Discontent?

Companies cut jobs to protect their profits, unions call for jobs to be saved.
This is 'what they do', as we keep hearing - acceptable for one not to have a social conscience, unnacceptable for the opposite. It's a funny old world.

Keeping people working is the key to dealing with this recession - and encouraging people to build houses is one of the easiest ways to deliver employment..

..but there's no time for reports, structure plans, lengthy consultations and all the other rubbish that government dreams up when it wants to avoid making a decision. The problem is now, we need the solution - Now!
