It kicks off with the BTL losers
BBC Radio Ulster: Steve Nolan Show
Great listen ...
"Its been a ticking time bomb for the past two years, people who bought property at the peak of the boom and have watched as the value has fallen. Now they are worth up to a third less than the price they agreed. Its left many people facing high court action or bankruptcy."

Fast forward to 14:05.
Apparently, the property development that Nolan discusses is called ... wait for it ... "Titanic Quarter" (http://www.titanic-quarter.com/)
Financial Planner is a guest on the show and he doesn't hold it back! It's a very lively debate. Caller 'Jim Wells' at 0:29:10 makes some arguments against BTLers.

My problem is that Stephen doesn't know how to be devil's advocate without being extremely rude and shouting down his own guests! Have a listen to him on Saturday night, interviewing the RMT's Bob Crow on the London Midland train conductor strike. Stephen took the view that the drivers should work on Sundays "for the public good" even though their contracts don't require them to work on Sundays. A view rejected by 99% of the passengers, who support the drivers! I think Bob had the patience of a saint:

20 mins makes sense to me. Caveat emptor. No sympathy for BTLrs because if you take a profit its your profit. A loss? Oh right perhaps that should be my (as a taxpayer) loss?

30 odd mins - JD says prices to go down an extra 30-40%. Woman says well we want to buy because for an extra £150 a month we can own our own place and decorate it.
(if Jd is right - and thats arguable esp. by smiling and kp) Expensive Dulux!!!

Fishes @ 58mins with JD getting hot under the collar (for a change!).
