High Street better hold on tight............

BBC News: High Street sales fall back again

.....July's 20% growth was driven by promotions rather "any return of consumer confidence".
The BRC also issued a stark warning about sales figures in the coming months.

Promotion ie discounts will quickly be taken for granted and become the normal state of commerce. Then further discounts follow. Welcome to the reality of a deflationary economy.

I recently visited a local Pound Land and stunned by the extraordinarily cheap goods, many of them being no cheap & nasty stuff apparently.
