The Telegraph: MPs making up to £5,000 an hour during the summer holidays
John Gummer, the Conservative former Environment Secretary, was paid £1,666 for 20 minutes work, the equivalent of £5,000 an hour, on behalf of Sovereign Reversions Ltd, an equity release firm.
Oliver Letwin, the Tory police chief, was paid £5,020 for 35 hours work by merchant bank NM Rothschild & Son.
Nick Raynsford, a former housing minister registered £11,416 for 47 hours work with three housing organisations.

Envy is such an ugly and pathetic personality trait.....
Oh, and some journalists earn over a million a year for writing the odd column. Even if they did work 40 hours a week (they don't) that works out as £480 per hour. Private Eye once worked out that a particular journalist (I can't remember which) earned about £100 a word over a single year. Nice work if you can get it.
People don't object to others earning this sort of money, they're just angry that they can't too. It's the politics of the playground and unless you are a true socialist who rejects money and ownership of goods I suggest you leave it there and start living in the real world.
