Where do we go from here?

BBC news: Head-to-head view on house prices

Jonathan Davis and Ashley Brown answer questions on what to expect next in the housing market. Some of this might be re-hashed from earlier interviews.
Question: If I buy now, am I buying at the bottom of the market?
AB: In my opinion, the very bottom of the market was reached several months ago, when cash buyers and professional property investors were having a field day.
JD: No. When the government stimulus ends there will be nothing holding up the market. Prices will fall 20-30% from here to 2011/12.

I wonder what would happen to the cash cow that is HPC if JD said prices had bottomed, it would be like turkey's voting for Xmas, 'vested interest'- you decide!

I fear the stimulus continuing for a long time in an "anything but deflation " mindset.

At least the BBC are recognising another opinion other than the "property expert" EAs and lender cheerleaders.

I think the traditional "property expert" have lost credibility with the likes of Phwil going bust.
