It's all good bear fodder, but I think it would be a mistake to put him in the same league as the Turner-Bovey shysters. If anything he shows them up and its not as if he's been investing in stuff because he thinks it'll be a moneyspinner - it sounds like stuff fairly close to his heart.

Can we fix it? No we can't!

...why do we put so much emphasis in all these "so-called" personalities? So what...who really cares what a third rate actor thinks! Perhaps if the BBC/fee payer hadn't paid him so much he would perhaps be in the same position as millions of other less fortunate ordinary people. Why not spare a thought for good old ordinary Tom and June who lost their jobs with Woolworths and remain on the New Labour scrap heap. They are the true victims of this mess and face huge problems for the future day by day...

Tom and June? Surely you mean Terry and June?

lol.
J...U...N...E...!
Hmmm...Were Terry and June ordinary people? Maybe...maybe not...

ordinary people? I don't know. But Terry was about as good an actor as morrisey.

Good for him. Maybe 2.5 million fund raising is a bit of a challenge off the back of Men Behaving Badly, but if he manages it, trustworthy guy.

@6. Quite. I believe it was Terry who was the voice for Penfold...

Also "Carry on Camping....Ah, the best...Terry Scott was a put-upon suburban, coerced into outdoor vacations by his ghastly, horsey-laughed wife, while Charles Hawtrey was the campest of campers who befriends them..... those were the days eh...

I agree with the essence of stillthinkings comments. We can all get affected by a sudden downturn as we see now in the economy and it appears that greed of others has put us there. That is not fair but it has happened before and will happen again, sadly. Whether it is a job lost at Woolworths, as mentioned, or £2.5M on a business that someone felt passionate about it is still sad to see people affected for the worse. When I read Morriseys comments on how he chose IVA to a "simple bankruptcy order" I was impressed, and wondered whether i would have had the guts to try to pay off my debts, £ by £, over such a period. Many would walk away from their liability(and they might have no other choice) and some mock him and call him greedy. However, it is extremely rare to read of such a decision and those who like to take a pop at people know they cannot genuinely take that from him.

@10 Time will tell. Words are fine... after all its great PR. But lets watch this space hey. If he pays it all off, in full, from his own personal fortune then and only then I will consider him an honourable person. At the moment...
@9. "his ghastly, horsey-laughed wife" lol. Yes. Brings back memories...
