Telegraph.co.uk: Housing affordability at the highest level since 1996
"Housing has become more affordable than at any point in the past 13 years, according to new research which will raise hopes that the property slump could soon come to an end." Yeah Yeah Yeah.... in Cornwall we remain in the mid teens of average income to house prices ratio, it's not been affordable to buy a home here for over 10 years.

Usual load of drivel.
Looks like their definition of "affordable" is based on mortgage repayments rather than house prices. And we know what happens to mortgage repayments when interest rates increase!

"...a key statistical indicator.... – indicating that for homeowners who can get hold of credit now is a good moment to buy a house or trade up".
....And the prognosis that the next year will be an extremely bumpy ride for the economy ??
Sounds like another property ramping article to me.

This assumes interest rates will not rise taxes will not increase and you will have a job. This type of rubbish should not be allowed to be published.

Genius? Way to agree with the main statement of the article you are mocking, dude. Suggest you read your own posts slowly before hitting "add comment".

'The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors said recently that it was throwing out its previous forecast that house prices would fall by 15pc this year'.
I happened to be walking past RICS HQ and was able to catch the aforementioned forecast as it came flying out the window. I tell you what, I'll hang on to it. You never know, they might need it again one day.
