Fill Yer Boots: Kathmandu is the Next Big Thing!

Times Online: Beauty queen Aayusha Karki forsakes modelling to become estate agent

Calling all property magnates: the UK market might be in a 'temporary plateau' but you can still make money on property. Go to Kathmandu! "House prices may be tumbling across the credit-crunched West but in Kathmandu they are booming...." You see property does only ever go up. The UK boom might have faltered but to take your mind off that read this article about somewhere else where property is booming instead!
I wonder will the Times ever get bored of property ramping?

House prices are booming as people "flee the impoverished and increasingly lawless countryside". Is that the "demand" estate agents in Kathmandu use to talk up the market?

There are a lot of peaks and troughs in the Katmandu residential property market and those fleeing the countryside will have a mountain to climb in raising a deposit.

"As a mountainous country, Nepal is severely constrained in terms of land supply. As we look ahead, the booming urban population and this lack of supply converge to create a unique market in which property prices will rise 25% per annum for all eternity. Kathmandu is a unique market where typical market analysis standards cannot easily be applied. Young sophisticated urban Nepalese hipsters have higher standards than their parents and require rooves, solid plaster walls and some rudimentary sewage infrastructure before they'll even consider living somewhere. New suburbs next to graveyards, chemical dumps, railways and motorways are becoming a haven for these young urbanites, especially as rural living falls out of favour. An influx of cash-rich foreign buyers who read the Times of London is also set to see prices soar ever skywards..."
There, just wrote their first marketing brochure for them.... should get the masses flocking in...!
