Freefall

BBC: Freefall

I wondered how long it would take for a crash "drama" to come out. Looks like it's littered with the
typical sterotypes.

What's really interesting is that it's this sort of drama that raises the profile of what's going on - more a case of the media helps create the issue, rather than just report on it. Perhaps a bit like 'Threads' (remember that in the 80s? When people started to REALLY get bothered by nuclear weapons) - because it's pitched in more of a real way.

Of course I'm saying this without actually seeing it - it might be a pile of crap. Still, Sarah Harding's in it, so it's worth a watch for that alone :-)

Having read the focus of this drama, I'd say this can only be a good thing for us, bringing the rampant corruption and fraud of the mortgage business to the attention of the middle class drama watchers.

Who knows maybe even my parents will start to understand why I can't afford to "get on the property ladder"!

@ 2, No i doubt it, not sexy enough, probably have a Gene Hunt type character as a top EA, giving potential buyers a good pasting if they don't buy..

Interesting but a few characters seem to be missing
1. Rather stupid upper class fat broad who hypes up the market in a series of facile but popular TV shows.
2. Slimy celeb couple who sell their souls to the god of BTL.
3. Politicians who support the madness because they have bought into the bubble.
4. A group of grass routes guru's who, like a Greek chorus warn from the sideline about the impending disaster.
Any other suggestions

I won't be watching this. I don't have a TV. I suggest everyone else does the same and abandon their television.

Don't forget the endless buy it, do it up, sell it for a profit shows that we had for ten years.

Switch off your television.

If its run by the BBC it will show NuLabour to be faultless. They will be thinking of their future expenses and pensions...

In times gone by, a good programme caused a major change in thinking - like Nell Dunn's "Up the Junction". Maybe the BBC could change our thinking about those clueless, greedy, self interested politicians?

This thread is as good as any.

Just for you lot to know I will be running another meet for the Economic Voice and HPC for a few weeks time...I believe this time it will be in Mid Wales because a few posters on my site have expressed an interest in coming to Wales. It will hopefully be a 2 day drink up between Crickhowell and Talybont On Usk two picturesque locations.

I understand this is a difficult location for most but it still stands anyway. Will post further details in an article as things develop.

All the best

TC
