If prices do not drop at least another 30%, there will / should be a mass exodus from seeking to buy, as only the stupid, would strap them selves up with a dept rope around there necks for the next 25yrs, i for one will definitely go travel again and set up home in another country, where i can get a bigger better house with land for the price of a one bed flat in Brighton... We do live in crazy world and people are so foolish..

How can the worst of the crash be over as the author of the article writes? We have got;

1. Interest rates that can only go up.
2. Unemployment that can only go up.
3. A noticeable lack of lending by the banks and big deposits needed.
4. House prices still out of kilter with earnings.

House prices can only go down I think and I think what has appeared to be a softening of the problem recently will very soon be blown away.

happy mondays " If prices do not drop at least another 30%, there will / should be a mass exodus"..."i for one will definitely go travel again and set up home in another country, where i can get a bigger better house with land for the price of a one bed flat in Brighton" I will be interested in where this Eldorado is, I lived in Australia for nearly 20 years, and I can tell you that cheep houses = no jobs. The reality is that the prices in Sydney are based on London prices, therefore selling your flat in Brighton will bring you what a realllllly small flat in Cambletown. I know Canada this is a country with at least a five year waiting list to get into.
Perhaps what you must consider is the fact that most country's will not accept people without a skill, overpaid, unproductive people ie council workers, sales people, most bank employees, insurance people. However, the people who are accepted with open arms are: engineers, building workers, scientists, architects etc.
To put it simply if you want to move up in the world and you are of use to a society go aboard , if you are a leach or parasite you really will be better off here.

But you don't have to leave Europe to find another country with more sensible house prices. Look what you can get in France or Austria for £150k compared to the UK even when the £ is so low!
