I thought thjis would happen when he did it - stated that here, many times. Reagan also repealed the 1933 Glass-Steagall Act - not to be outdone Lady Thatcher effectively abolished building societies, sold off our utilities for thrupence, and gave away council housing stock - an important precurser to the current 'difficulties'.
And just to keep up the bubble inflating efforts - sold us the rain , to help the cash chase the finite land resources.
Anyone out there got a 'back of a fag packet' manifesto for repairing the damage?
