does Negative equity matter. despite lots of scaremongering stats, the answer is probably not very much in the grand scheme of things.

Well apparently money is cited as the biggest cause of divorce. If that is so, then negative equity is obviously very relevant.

Rather, negative equity is a symptom of a greedy nation obsessed with exploiting an individual’s need and desire to live somewhere in relative security and comfort, not to mention some individuals’ belief that they can freely use their homes as a cash machine to live beyond their means. It is difficult to have much sympathy for either group.
How else can you make money?

Negative equity might not matter now, but it will when unemployment hits 3m and interest rates head north of 10%!
