Cuba competition

City A.M.: State set to spend 50% of UK GDP

Apparently the communist government of Cuba spends 60% of GDP, whereas the UK government spends 50%.

The simple answer to your question hubbers is that most of the population either haven't got the attention span required to understand or couldn't give a damn.

As long as they have Big Macs, Big Brother and Eastenders everything is OK.

The ruling elite in this country use the Roman Empire's method of bread and circuses to keep the masses happy!

At least the Cuban gov provide social housing and subsidised food. Saw on a tv prog on Sunday that a guy had bought his flat for $200 US. When he doesn't want it anymore he sells it back to the gov, at the same price. You're not allowed to make money on gov-subsidised housing. Brilliant! A bit different from here, with people getting a 50% subsidy on council houses and then selling at market value.
