Can We Trust Them?
Telegraph: MPs' expenses: how the PM's home flipping would have been hidden from the public
"Censored copies of Gordon Brown’s expenses, published on the parliamentary website, graphically illustrate the way MPs have been able to hide questionable practices such as “flipping” beneath a sea of black ink. Mr Brown’s expenses for the 2006-07 financial year show that he flipped the designation of his second home from London to Scotland on Sept 17, 2006, just 10 days after Tony Blair announced he was going to stand down as Prime Minister". (he was obviously sooo concerned about his country, constituents etc., etc.)

He didn't flip his home.
he merely changed the designation of his second home after he came Prime Minister. There was a legitimate reason for this and nothing wrong with it. I am not sure anyone else would have acted differently.

Where's the difference - No. 11 or No. 10? Don't they both go with the job? I don't understand why his circumstances changed.

Our prime minister (And all MP's) should have performance related pay. This is the most important job in the country - it should have the highest earning potential - based on delivery of long term objectives. I don't buy all this "I'm doing it because I want to make a difference" - I suspect most start out with good intentions but they get more focused on party politics than the good of the country. If we're bickering over a 100 quid claim for a set of blinds when the country is in this state, something is seriously wrong.

I thought the point of a second home was so that ministers who live far from London have somewhere to stay when they visit London for work... if the prime minister lives in London full time, why does he get second home?
