Wrexham Chronicle: TWO thirds of home hunters can’t buy terraced house Wrexham
MORE than two thirds of home hunters in Wrexham still can’t afford to buy a basic terraced house. Even though average prices have fallen by £10,000 in the county, 68% still can’t get their foot on the housing ladder, according to council figures.

Hardly surprising bearing in mind the employment prospects and renumeration that the locals recieve when Wrexham is spitting distance from Chester.

Now am I stunned and curious - is the following a genuine statement?:
"If there are fewer than 10 units, council officials want a third to be affordable – which is defined as a property three and a half times a couple’s pay and nine times a sole wage earner’s."
Is there really any planet in this solar system where 9x a salary is a good measure of affordable? I prepare to reassess my view on just how far this hpc has left to run..............

Village houses are much cheaper than town houses in Wales - opposite to the South East where people want to live in towns. Could be something to do with the quality of village properties in wales - tiny dingy industrial terraces.
