Daily Mail: Seven price rises to hit families from this week adding an extra £145 to average weekly bills

April 1 was the trigger date for increases on the cost of everything from a tank of petrol or a hot shower to a dental appointment or a doctor's prescription.

Even the Daily Mail wouldn't report a seven-grand-a-year average increase.

On Planet Mail, this probably WILL push up prices:

Logic as follows: The person selling the house knows that his future expenditure is going to be higher, so he then sells his house for a higher amount to cover that extra future expense.

Aah ... the joys of 'one-sided economics'.

The Phone CoOp are quite a good alternative. They are, as the name suggests, a cooperative run for their members. They now have a combined telephone and adsl broadband package at a reasonable price since a 'de something or other' of the exchanges
