Thisismoney.co.uk: Further setback for building societies
The Bank of England has turned up the heat on a raft of building societies following damaging credit rating downgrades last week.
As many as seven societies could be asked to put more cash into an emergency Bank scheme designed to make it easier for lenders to raise money.
