Krusty has lost the plot

BBC IPLAYER: Newsnight Friday 24th

Thought this is worth posting. 20 mins in we have Kirsty Alsop uttering garbled rubbish about how we need to be ashamed of our past excesses and embrace austerity. Seems a bit rich to me!

I couldn't post how I feel about the hypocracy of some media types on this forum....perhaps kirsty would like to visit cornwall where young people turn to drink and drugs after being marginalised by the recent housing boom

average salary £12,500...average house price was £200,000

krusty's voice pitch is getting higher with desperation every time I hear her. That hat should bring the tone down a tad.

I just hope she has a large sombrero at home so we can all have a break from her constant screech of ramping.

Sorry link wouldn't play for me, but that's probably down to my vodafone 'dongle' go anywhere (not) broadband connection.

Anyway I made myself sit down and watch her new programme the other day, all about her doing a place up in Devon.

I have never seen such a patronising programmme in my life.

The premis of the programme is that she's bought a house and is getting involved in making/buying some of the various fixtures and fittings some of which come from varous artizans and crafty type people.

OK so far and not a bad idea in itself.

The house she's doing up is (I would guess) in excess of £600k in it's run down state.

Every scene has Kirsty in a new designer outfit and new (v expensive coat) I kid you not she must have worn at least 6 different coats in the 1 hour programme.

She visits and stained glass wall paper maker, stained glass window maker and a candlestick maker. Gets involved in the first part of making the item (fully designer clothed up). But never actually finishes the job. And then has the owner of the business hand deliver the item to her personally at home.

She even went on to say that the wall paper was so expensive that most people would only use it in the main room (should that be drawing room). However she thought it best for her down stairs toilet.

The only thing missing from her down stairs toilet was a chair for the butler to sit at while he waits to wipe ones bottom !

Some well to do people are very good at connecting with the masses (Joanna Lumley for example) but Krusty simply cannot help her own snobbery and there in lies the problem.

Rant over.
