Oh brother... someone please tell me this is wrong????

Purely from a selfish perspective, I could really do with this being totally impossible..... if this is going to happen, then I'm stuck on this insufferable little island for a whole lot longer!

Ditto -- I wish I had turned my life savings into dollars at the end of 2007. I've been waiting for UK house prices to fall for 10 years, and now that I've given up and found a better society to live in the proceeds of all my hard work are in an increasingly worthless currency :-(
