Times: Thousand jobs in peril at Pickfords
BRITAIN’s biggest removals firm, Pickfords, could go through a controversial “pre-pack” administration, putting 1,100 jobs at risk.
The business, rescued in April last year by Team Group, has brought in Deloitte, the accountancy firm, to advise on a restructuring as the firm struggles in the wake of the collapse in the housing market.

I made the mistage of using Pickfords 4 years ago. Their insurance paid up, but their staff were poor, loads of scuffs, breakages. Nowhere near the Pickfords I remember 15 years ago. I'm not suprised that they are having trouble.

They were always hideously overpriced - my local firm charged me a tenth of the Pickfords quote, and did an excellent job.
