We’re working hard to get them out of paid employment as quickly as we can.
Newsbiscuit: Government slashes waiting times for unemployment
There was some rare good news for the Government today as it published figures showing that the number of people waiting for jobless opportunities has reduced significantly since the start of the economic downturn. Waiting times for unemployment have also fallen in what the Government is describing as ‘a real turnaround in performance against a key economic measure’.
‘The queue for the dole queue is now substantially shorter than this time last year, and the position compared to three years ago has been completely transformed,’ said Work and Pensions Secretary James Purnell today. ‘We accept there are still people on waiting lists, but we’re working hard to get them out of paid employment as quickly as we can.

Gordon is a Moron
‘Gordon Brown’s term as Chancellor will be remembered for poor decisions, prejudice and Soviet quality attempts at social engineering. His stupidity and incompetence have weakened Britain for generations to come. No one has done more damage to the nation for half a century.
If you share my horror at the lowering of quality and standards in public life you will, I suspect, also share my belief that no one exemplifies the lowering more dramatically than Gordon the Moron.
What have we done to deserve public servants such as Brown?
It must have been something pretty terrible.’

Well said Vernon Coleman. Let's not forget GB's blatantly transparent lies and votecatching policies, his repeated attempts to shift the blame onto others and take credit where it isn't due.....I could go on forever.
No wonder the police and army are braced for rioting in the streets. When the sheeple finally wake up and see GBs part in the mess we're in this will surely happen.

odd you should mention his taking credit where it isn't due saver, I nearly posted another NB article as follows
"Government announces improvement in daylight hours
Gordon Brown has announced that government measures taken during the current economic gloom has led to an increase in the length of the day.
Many commentators and members of the public have recently been remarking on the unexpected increase in daylight hours, which has resulted in some people not even having to switch the light on to get dressed. The change has been so noticeable that the government had to bring forward an announcement on the matter. In a press conference outside Number 10 this morning, the Prime Minister said the changes were a direct result of new government initiatives.
‘Measures I have put in place will secure a reduction in nocturnal darkness,’ said Mr Brown, ‘not only for this country but for the entire northern hemisphere, day by day, week on week, month on month for the foreseeable future. Thanks to our husbandry, daylight hours are expected to continue to increase at least until late June, and there is no reason why they should not then stay at those levels or even increase further"
