Rosie Millard buys a house
Times: Honey, I blew the budget
HPC's second favourite property pornstar buys a £1.1m 'wreck' at auction, with the intent of doing it up for a profit. But before she can start work, she'll need to sell her own home first, for £1.45m

Breathtaking. She has outdone herself. A true comic genius.

"Now that I’ve got a £1m wreck on my hands, what’s the plan?"
I'm not sure I believe this article - nobody could be that stupid. Rosie already has the finance and is planning to gloat in future columns about how clever her gamble was.

i hope she really doesnt have the finance in place. good luck to her selling a 1.5 million pound house (even if it is being avdertised in the times!) in this climate. Anthea gone.. only Rosie, Ashworth and the Wilsons to go... this could be a vintage year.

@ Quiet Guy, people CAN be that stupid. All property developers/speculators go bankrupt in the end, see also Reichmann, Donald Trump, Phil Spencer, Grant Bovey, McCarthy & Stone, Barratts etc etc plus hundreds of thousands of nameless others up and down the country and millions across the world, or my personal favourite Geoff Morris.
To be fair, these people do believe their own lies ever beyond the bitter end, and some of them start again.

"The rules of the auction room dictate that you have six weeks to finalise everything, or you lose your deposit. You can be also sued by the vendor, in this case a housing association, for the remaining cash. Yes, I know, we should have nailed the finances beforehand, but I think we can pull it together – as I said, I’m a glass-half-full person"

And a brain half-empty property t!t. I do suspect that some of this story is not exactly true. (figures, not having the money sorted beforehand, etc) she is after all a lying journo VI.

This hideous creature is lying through her teeth about some (or all) of the facts about this and her previous property exploits. I suspect that she is probably a serial liar, and like all 'reality' TV, this is just set up for the 'cameras', scripted, and with no paper trail to prove that it is factual.
She just wants to be able to keep her naff carreer going by selling a few hundred words every month and appearing in all those glossy sunday mags and other places desperate for a few pics and words about the awful, slimy people they publicise.
It reminds me of Ricky Gervais and the awful series 'The Office'. The only reason it was successful is because millions of poor suckers spend their days (and lives) in cringe-worthy environments with dreadful people like 'David Brent'. Well millions of awful people look to nasty people like Mrs Millard to justify their own vacuous existences.
"I cannot find you cheap car insurance" ---- "Simples"

Rosie Millard - anagram = Mad or sillier
I rest my case

I have some sympathy for her. If that is her in the photo, then she clearly has a hunchback, and it's not british to mock the physically handicapped. Specially when they are clearly mentally handicapped too.

Good job I consider myself a European and global citizen then Inbreda.
She's an intellectual hunchback who claimed to have £40,000 debts on her credit card in 2004.

if you do not pay the balance in a timely manner you lose the 10% deposit.
Could be very expensive. Forward planning is a wonderful thing, lol.
In the current climate planning is everything.

You've made my day shining wit with your comment about Ricky Gervais and "The Office"
I thought I was the only person in the UK who considered that programme to be c*ap.

This woman is one of the now plentiful industry plants.
How many more are there?

@ Inbreda, way to go mate I'm still giggling like an idiot! Has her gaff got a bell-tower?
Wouldn't surprise me if she could start making a lot of money by becoming a celebrity by virtue of her complete lack of virtues. It's just the sort of thing that keeps happening in our society.

And she has the nerve to write a "thrift" column...
What a ridiculous, vapid - and soon to be a lot poorer - woman.
Another plank on the Bonfire of the Vanities that is now underway.
