Huge profits still yet to materialize
Mail: Grant and Anthea sell off £5m ski chalet
Back when the credit crunch started, the husband of TV presenter Anthea Turner dismissed rumours that his property company was in trouble. He boasted: ‘I am sitting in our £5million chateau in Megève in the Alps. I will sue anyone who says that Imagine Homes is in financial difficulty.’
Yesterday it was revealed that the couple have been forced to put their Alpine bolt-hole up for sale. Worse still, anxious estate agents have suggested they lower their £5.5million asking price because of a lack of interest.

Why doesn't someone buy them a couple of Cadbury's Flakes to cheer them up...? :o)

Well it couldn't happen to nicer people. You can just imagine the scene in the estate agents.
"But if Madame could perhaps think about lower the price a little ... "
"We're celebrities! That's a wow factor! Besides we're running a business here and we intend to make a profit!"
(storms out)

I suppose when Anthea and Grant have finished their fire sale and liquidated everything they own I guess they'll have to 'Imagine Homes' too.

Anthea will be ok. She can always sell her hard luck story to hello magazine or something.

A homeless person with neither debt nor asset is in a much better financial position, than someone, say, with 10 million asset along with 11 million debt.

Lack of interest? Nonsense - I'm watching intently with big grin on my face!

Haven't they had plenty of time to sell off some assets before things got as bad as this? Too deep in denial I guess.

A homeless and cashless person is not losing money or asset valuation through inflation or deflation so he has profits that have not yet materialised. : )

Brilliant, that chalet will go nicely with my other trophy holiday home, the Berghof in Berchtesgaden. I might even keep Anthea on to do the cleaning.

So let me get this right:
Grant Bovey and Anthea Turner:
£100 million property empire - In the sole ownership of the bank HBOS - effectively gone
£5 million home in surrey - For Sale - effectively gone
£5 million swiss chalet home - For sale - effectively gone
Didn't darling Anthea have a decorating business go belly up also?
I think these people are morally and financially bankrupt. I think Millets and the Army & Navy stores have some quite reasonable tents this time of year.
