How about arrest anyone issued a mortgage post 2005?

Police have arrested seven men and a woman over suspected involvement in a massive mortgage fraud worth £40m.

Can't imagine why they bothered to falsify pay slips. In 2005-2007 no bank bothered to look at someone's income before granting a mortgage. After all, house prices always go up so mortgages are risk free, even if the buyer defaults.
