Home.co.uk: Prices Falling Faster in the South
"Asking prices fell in all English regions, Scotland and Wales over the last six
months, although there is a marked North-South divide. During this period, asking
prices have fallen much further in the southern English regions, exemplified by the
South East, Greater London and East Anglia. Further north, market house prices
have declined more slowly (North East –0.6%, Scotland -1.2%) since August 08."
London prices slashed by 6.5% since August

Oh really? I must be living somewhere else then.
That said and to be fair, rents have fallen and the price of static caravans has come down considerably.

I think terms like 'southern' and 'east anglia' are too vague. The cambridge economy is not in recession and prices have barely budged. Also, from my own monitoring of the market there is a big difference between small flats and large familly homes.
It's important to know your own market - propertysnake.co.uk, property-bee.com and nethouseprices.com are your weapons of choice.
