"Mandelson accused Howard Schultz of being unnecessarily pessimistic about Britain's prospects"
It should have been Schultz that used the f-word. We're f-cked.

'The UK is not spiralling, although I've noticed Starbucks is in a great deal of trouble - but that might be because of their over-expansion given the state of the market,'
Yeah Schultz - no more boom and bust for us....

Time to wake up and smell the coffee.

Schultz is probably upset because nobody is buying his delicious reasonably priced coffee anymore.

Wonder how much borrowed money was spent at Starbucks in its hayday?

I'm with Mandy on this one. Starbucks was a horrific, rapacious blot on the cityscape and they are getting their comeuppance at last.
Sh&it overpriced coffee and a bad attitude, a perfect example of corporates forcing their way into communities and edging out local flavour and ambience (like Tesco, another popular sheeple joint I'd like to see go down the pan).
Hubris => nemesis.
